Shahid Kardar is the Vice Chancellor of the Beaconhouse National University. He is an ACA from England and a graduate of the University of Oxford (PPE). He has been Governor, State Bank of Pakistan and Minister for Finance and Planning and Development, Government of Punjab. He is or has been the Member of i) National Commission for Government Reform ii) Banking Laws Review Commission, iii) Task Force on Education established by the Government of Pakistan and the British Government; iv) Chairman of the Punjab Education Foundation that launched internationally acknowledged programmes during his tenure, v) Honorary Treasurer, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) and a vi) Director on several companies both the private and public sectors. He has provided consulting services to both multilaterals like World Bank, ADB, UNDP and ILO and bilaterals like UK AID. He has authored three books, contributes to journals and newspapers both within and outside Pakistan and is interviewed regularly by both local and foreign televisions and radios.
