Prof. Dr. Arifa Tahir is an academician, and expert in Environmental Science and Climate Change with extensive leadership experience in higher education. She has served as the Chairperson of the Environmental Science Department at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) since 2010, where she has pioneered degree programs, led key climate policy initiatives, and established the Institute of Climate Change and Environmental Science. Her expertise encompasses environmental biotechnology, climate resilience, biosorption, and waste management. A recipient of multiple prestigious national and international honors—including the Research Productivity Award and Meraj Khalid Award—she has led numerous state-funded and international research projects, including initiatives with the US Department of State and the British Council.
