Merit Cum Need Based Scholarship
The Khalid Sherdil Chair in Urban Policy Development has been created in
BIPP to honour Khalid Sherdil, former Director, BIPP in recognition of his
outstanding contribution to establishing BIPP and advancing its mandate to
promote evidence based rational policy making in Pakistan. He, as CEO,
PUU assiduously and fervently advocated and prompted the need to fully
harness the potential for urban development as engine of economic growth
in Pakistan. The Punjab Urban Unit and its spread all across the country
speaks eloquently of Khalid's contribution.
The Chair while undertaking interdisciplinary urban policy research and
development under the stewardship of a distinguished scholar in urban
policy and planning, will also offer scholarship sponsored by "Friends of
Khalid" to a deserving student to support completion of his/her degree
program.
We are seeking eligible applicants for Khalid Sherdil Scholarship Award, who strictly meet the following criteria:
Legal residents of Pakistan who are minimum eighteen years of age and currently enrolled in 1st semester or to be enrolled in the Undergraduate program fall session 2021, in an HEC accredited Institute or University.
The deadline of the Khalid Sherdil Scholarship Program is extended to 15th October 2021 considering that the result of HSC is yet to be announced and many universities are still in the admission process.
Note: Only the students who are to be enrolled in the undergrad program fall session 2021 in any HEC recognized university of Punjab province are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
