BIPP visit to NAMAL University, Mianwali
From May 22 to 24, 2025, the Shahid Javed Burki Institute of Public Policy (BIPP) visited Namal University for a series of discussions focused on agricultural innovation, climate-smart practices, local governance, and sustainable development. Key topics included the role of AgriTech parks, renewable energy’s impact on farmers’ income, and strategies for community integration and environmental restoration. A highlight of the visit was the discussion on the establishment of an AI Valley, emphasizing the role of universities in driving research and innovation. On May 24, the BIPP team attended the Open House Discussion & student Final Year Project exhibition, where Namal students showcased their innovative ideas through posters and project stalls, demonstrating impressive creativity and a strong commitment to problem-solving in real-world contexts. The visit concluded with a tour of the Agritech Park, the Center of Excellence for Olive Research and Training in Chakwal, and a safari along the Indus River. BIPP extends its heartfelt thanks to Namal University’s leadership and faculty for their generous hospitality and collaborative spirit throughout the visit.
